Many of the teeth
whitening systems must be done at the
dentists office. We have already mentioned the
most popular applications: Zoom®, LaserSmile®,
BriteSmile®, LaserWhite®, Rembrandt®,
LumaArch® , Niveous® and Opalescence® . Most
of these are start to finish in chair procedures.
However, there are an increasing number of
applications which can be supervised by a
licensed technician, otherwise known as
"office assisted". For example Crest®
has a product which is only available from a
dentist and must be supervised for in office use.
Each cosmetic dentist is different and you should
enquire about the programs they have in place. In
any case, going with "assisted" or
"non-assisted" will be a more
comprehensive and faster way to achieve a whiter
smile than with most at home whitening systems.
A professional evaluation
will be able to tell you in advance how healthy
your teeth and gums are which is the foundation
to a great smile. If you are trying to get the
smile of a Hollywood star then you may be
disappointed. Don't forget that people on TV may
have invested 10's of thousands into their teeth
with a cosmetic
dentist and their pearly whites
are not just the result of a whitening system.
